Capture and respect shopper permission

Capture only after a shopper makes an explicit reminder choice.

WakeMyCart documentation · Free 1.1.8 · Pro 1.1.8

What to do

  1. Publish your store’s recovery privacy explanation and configure the store’s cookie manager for its actual integrations.
  2. Enable checkout capture. Test the unchecked path: a shopper can buy without reminders.
  3. Select reminders with a test email and confirm the saved-preference message. Test withdrawing that choice before ordering.
  4. Test the unsubscribe link and its confirmation, including when account access or Pro has expired.

What to expect

Entering an email alone is not consent. The checkout choice states the reminder frequency before the shopper opts in. Earlier captures retain their recorded permission. Every send must stay within both that permission and the store’s current frequency safeguard, in either edition.

A GET visit to an unsubscribe page does not revoke consent by itself. Confirming the page or a valid one-click unsubscribe POST stops future messages. A message already handed to a provider cannot be recalled.
